Wolfe Tracks: Fiction and what's coming
Get in! We're going to ramble about what's coming
This will be a short one I think with me rambling on about what I’ve been up to and what’s about to happen.
So, like I’ve said before, for everyone that’s subscribed, I appreciate each and every one of you! The world is a busy, noisy place and I understand having time to read is tough. So never fear, my fiction will always be here waiting for you to read, when you get time.
And yet, there will be more! So let’s get down to it.
Windtracer Tales
We’re racing along here and I hope everyone is enjoying the ride. As I mentioned last time, Dark Device of the Great Chasm will wrap up about 35-ish chapters. That’s huge for serialized fiction! But the story demanded it.
I’m already working on the next story. Title? Ha! Yeah. That’s a thing. I use placeholder titles like “That Next Story I Need to Work on” until I figure out something that makes sense! But I am plotting it out. It takes a bit but don’t worry, if you’re enjoying Windtracer Tales, there is much more coming. The next story will be taking Tela and her lot into a new location with new trouble ( only some of it they may have caused! )
There might be a month break between Windtracer Tales stories. We’ll see.
Legends of the Privateers!
I’m writing away on Death Whispers of the Etherwave in between anything with Windtracer Tales. Right now, one of my biggest thoughts I’ve been chewing on is how frequently to toss a chapter out to everyone? Weekly? bi-weekly? It’s a hard decision. Lots of people have said this better than myself, but it’s tough to know. Serialized fiction was born way before any technology we enjoy today. It was a very different world back then.
But, the spirit still rings true today. It’s the details that are a touch different.
So, I’m considering bi-weekly right now. Then I might speed that up to weekly later. In any case, I’m thinking of either releasing chapters on Fridays, but then again, I could just have them drop here on a Sunday! I don’t want to drown anyone in emails. After all, email is pretty crowded these days anyway!
What do you think? Would you prefer to see some Legends of the Privateers on Sundays? Or showing up on a Friday? I’d love to hear some opinions, toss them in the comments!
Hoist the Colors
As always, the game mechanics are coming along. The base rules are nearly done. After that comes firming up character creation and ship creation! Yep, in this system there will be some light weight rules for the heroes to make the ship they travel around in if they want.
The idea here is that the ship actually stands in a player character, too! Sort of a ‘hidden character’ that can help the heroes when the odds are stacked against them. It will be a bit tricky, as I want something fast and efficient during creation but have depth during play. Most important, it has to be a team decision among all the players on how and what goes into the ship.
In between, there’s plenty of lore to make. Working on some new monsters, places, settings, and all.
Any questions, hey, I’ll love to answer them. Just ask away!
But, enough of that. Let me get back at it, and leave you to your day!
If you’re a paid subscriber. I don’t even come close to having he words for how grateful I am. Thank you. If you’re seeing this as a free subscriber and like what you see, I would appreciate your support. If a paid subscription isn’t to your liking, you can always buy me a coffee!
Last, it’s been said before but I want to say it again… sure, I write for me because I love the stories and settings, but I’m also writing for you. I appreciate each and every one of you.
Now, if you’re wanting a deeper look at Hoist the Colors, take the plunge here at the link: Hoist the Colors. For Windtracer, jump over here: Windtracer: Adventures in Awldor.
Until next time!

I've settled on publishing once per week. It's a personal decision based on what my real job has me doing plus how much I can produce. I've been fortunate to have a handful of already-written episodes to work with, but that will end soon. I will find out then if I can maintain the once-a-week pace.
It all sounds good to me! Keep writing & creating! I'm here to enjoy when it's ready. 😊 I have no insight as to days or how often to release. Once you set a schedule, I'll adapt 😉 Sorry, no help. I do get a lot of emails but I know who they are from and what they are writing. I've checked them all out, and a handful are ones I must read right away. (Like yours!) Others I save to read later. It's based on the reader so I'm not sure the writer can manipulate that process, except find more readers that need what you are creating. When you figure that out, please let me know. 🥰
