Wolfe Tracks: Old fiction, New Fiction, and more (part 1)
What I've been up to and what's yet to come!
Yep, you read that right. This will be a part 1 of 2. Most of that is the third topic about the Hoist the Colors game itself.
First off, for everyone that’s subscribed, I appreciate each and every one of you! The world is a busy, noisy place and I understand having time to read is tough. So never fear, my fiction will always be here waiting for you to read, when you get time.
First off, Windtracer Tales
This one is still moving along with no stopping anytime soon. Tela Kioni and her bunch will be getting themselves into, and out of, trouble for the foreseeable future!
What they’re up to in Dark Device of the Great Chasm will go on for about 35 chapters? Give or take? After that may come a short break before Tela is off on a new adventure again.
Second. All Hands! A new series off starboard! Legends of the Privateers!
That’s right, I’ve got a new one coming. This series is set in the world ( and game lore ) of Hoist the Colors.
There will be a page with the introduction up in a week and then chapters a few weeks after that. I need about a month to get chapters going for you in the first story of this series, Death Whispers of the Etherwave. I’ve always loved pulp stories ( which is where my love of comic book stories comes from ). So, this story will follow that ‘pulp’ and ‘comic book’ path set down by the likes of Lester Dent, Stan Lee, Maxwell Grant, and more who set the pace.
The world ended in 1712. It happened all at once, and the next day no one knew what to expect. Nations, lands, even entire cultures were turned upside down overnight. Refugees from another world now call Earth home. Everything was changed, if not transformed - including people.
People like me.
There are those who plan to use what happened to their advantage, no matter who they hurt. They can try.
But they’ll find us standing in their way.
- Doctor Pedro Sangre, Alchemist and Privateer
Transformed by the cataclysm of 1712, Doctor Pedro Sangre and his four courageous privateer companions confront mysterious and evil forces that plague innocent people. Together, they grapple with uncanny forces and myths come to life, risking everything to preserve peace and set right what has gone wrong.
Death Whispers of the Etherwave
A daring mission to recover the Codex Luminari from the ruined library of Lësarilis thrusts Doctor Sangre and his companions into a deadly game of cat and mouse. The stakes? Recover the book from a mysterious foe, and rescue an enemy who wants them dead!
Hoist the Colors
The game mechanics are coming along nicely. There is a lot to work on here, because with a solid RPG ruleset you have to work on the setting, story, and even a bit of fiction inside and through the rules. Then, make them all consistent.
But, I’ll wax on, wax off about that in part 2! See you then!
If you’re a paid subscriber. I don’t even come close to having he words for how grateful I am. Thank you. If you’re seeing this as a free subscriber and like what you see, I would appreciate your support. If a paid subscription isn’t to your liking, you can always buy me a coffee!
Last, it’s been said before but I want to say it again… sure, I write for me because I love the stories and settings, but I’m also writing for you. I appreciate each and every one of you.
